Of the four seasons, Fall is this writer's favorite, not because of the gorgeous colors of the changing season, or the crisp, anticipatory winds that will send leaves whirling and laughing round my feet like mischievous children, not even for the fantastic holiday parties that are filled with good times and great friends. No. Although those are all on my list of the best of the best, the thing that makes fall A-#1 to me is the magnificently rich fabrics, knits and styles that are so pleasurably necessary once the cold starts to set in. To bundle and snuggle yourself in the kind of beautiful yumminess that feels like your being hugged all day, and that makes everyone else want to reach out and touch you, that's what I'm talking about. Really quality produced Velvets and Velours - the kind that when you touch them, you can't help but make an "Mmmmmm" sound - are exactly the stuff my Autumn dreams are made of. Today's selections are just that -- so luxurious, so flattering, touchable and "Mmmm-able" .... nope, the cold can't get here fast enough for me!

Over the years, Patchwork has seen its fashion surges and resurgence. The initial reason for patchwork was, of course, frugality - to make the most of any materials that might be available, even the smallest of strips. Whether the final product held a repetitive pattern or was more of a mishmash of anything at hand, the likable functionality and look of these clothes made them so detailed and interesting to study that it became, over the centuries, one of those magnificent and quirky fashion staples that we simply have to keep coming back to ... one look at today's selections and you can see why. They're beautiful, fascinating, timeless and classically bohemian.

What an incredible color is Oxblood - rich, dark, vibrant .. a vividness you could engulf yourself in where time would cease, and coming up for air would be neither an option nor a necessity. It's alluring, exciting and enriching to any who view it, whilst being calming, majestic and so very very deep. This is not a color to take lightly. It's not for the faint of heart. It's a color to commit yourself to. When you wear it, you'll realize immediately that everything else will simply be revolving around it - it commands that much attention and it deserves that much homage. Grab it! Embrace it! Tame it and then let it run wild as you wear it... but keep a tight hold of it's reigns -' you're in for a fast, bold, beautiful ride!
